We used to marvel at screens, sensors, and software. Today, they’re woven into our clothing, embedded in our art, and quietly shaping how we move, think, and feel. The digital is no longer a “thing” , it’s a material presence, as integrated and intuitive as thread or breath. Igoe 's writings makes me think about how working with responsive textiles and robotics has shifted from being about technology to being about experience. As the author suggest, I believe the digital is no longer the subject, more likely it’s the space through which I listen, build, and co-compose with the world around me.
"The postdigital defines a time in which the novelty of the digital has been overcome and its value is becoming fully integrated, embedded, into our lives."
Elaine Igoe, "Change Matters" 2018
